This crust takes more time than our Super Easy Pizza Dough Recipe, but the taste is definitely worth the wait! (=
Whole Wheat Multigrain Pizza Crust
Prep & Raise Time approximately 40 minutes, 30 minutes for raising
Bake Pizza at 375 degrees for 15-20 minutes.
1 cup warm water (105 degrees)
1 package active dry yeast
1 tsp sugar
1 Tbsp oil (we like olive or sesame oil)
1 tsp salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
1/8 cup flax seeds
1/8 cup toasted sesame seeds
Step One: Pour warm water into mixing bowl and check temp for yeast (should be approximately 105 degrees) then sprinkle yeast and sugar on top of water and let sit for about 10 minutes until it is frothy.
Step Two: Mix in oil, salt, flour, flax and sesame seeds. Once dough is well mixed you can knead it by hand for a few minutes, or you can let the mixer do the kneading for you. I prefer to let the mixer do it for me. (=
Step Three: Remove the dough from the mixing bowl and form it into a smooth ball. Lightly grease the mixing bowl and return the dough to the bowl to raise. Cover the dough and let raise for about 30 minutes.
Step Four: Spread the dough on a lightly greased pan. Stab all over with a fork so there are little holes in the crust. Cover with your choice of toppings and cook for 15-20 minutes at 375 degrees.
To Make a delicious Tomato Basil Pizza like the one pictured:
Mix together 1 Tablespoon of soft butter with 1 teaspoon of garlic salt.
Spread the garlic butter over the pizza crust. Top with chopped tomatoes and fresh basil. Cover with mozzarella cheese and bake.
We like to serve it with some taco sauce for dipping. Delicious! (=
